There are 3 main components to this position:
1) Interacting with patients and families: -Greeting -Answering phones -responding to emails -Appointment scheduling -Explaining insurance benefits -Explaining treatment plan -Managing recall communication (regular cleanings, etc) -Occasional emergency calls
2) Billing and insurance administration: -Collecting payment from patients -Managing accounts receivable -Sending reimbursement to insurance companies
3) General office administration: -Keeping desks and office tidy -General office bills -Schedule management -Ordering office and dental supplies -Keeping track of inventory -Manage marketing (special events, marketing programs, etc)
Qualities: Overall, we’re looking for someone that is very upbeat and friendly but also assertive and confident in providing direction and guidance to patients and families (i.e. scheduling and billing). You must have patience, excellent customer service skills, and also love kids!
